Some concerned citizens and the Nsuapemso Elders are seriously calling for justice over the Narawa mining company’s irresponsibility mining activities and abandonment of development projects in the village after their agreement expired in 2011.
Irresponsible mining for years has been going on in Nsuapemso, creating a gradual growth in children dropping out from school.
Since the death of the owner of Narawa Mining Company, George Brown, the new Narawa administration has refused to renew their agreement with Nsuapemso Palace, intruding on the lands with glamorous and irresponsible mining activities even after their suspension in November 2022 by the Mineral Commission of Ghana.
The suspended mining company over The years have not done any finished development projects for Nsuapemso village but rather have been telling some galamsy miners to pay weekly dues in cash and in gold to them as concession owners and not to the community.
These have been going on for years, and any attempt to come to the public has been attacked by some security personnel of the Narawa company.
Narawa has never completed a project even in Nsuapemso after all the money and gold % they collect from the miners they give their concession to.
One problem the youths of Nsuapemso has been blaming Narawa for the destruction of their roads since they came to the village. The then well-constructed road has turned into a mining road even though it is against the mining law.
The Administration of Narawa has not make any attempt to fix the road they damaged through their activities because they claim they are not government and so do not construct roads.
It is alleged by some youths in and around Nsuapemso so that any attempt to bring Narawa to justice since they started destroying the village infrastructures with no agreement with Nsuapemso has failed because they tried to bribe agencies and some of the people in the village to keep quiet.
The concerned youth of Nsuapemso are therefore taking this bold decision to seek justice for the village and also Allow the Nsuapemso Concern Royals to implement the right mining system, which is cooperative mining for the village rather than to let Narawa still destroy their farm lands.
