Accra, Ghana – The highly anticipated third edition of the Black Ourstory Festival
returns this February, taking place at the Coconut Grove Regency Hotel, Accra,
on February 15-16 and 22-23, 2025. This annual celebration honors the
profound contributions of Black individuals and communities during Black
Ourstory Month.

The Festival promises a vibrant lineup of immersive exhibitions, cultural
discussions, and interactive activities, designed to inspire, educate, and unite
people from all walks of life. Festival-goers can also look forward to a PopUp
Museum and lively performances that bring Black heritage to life. Whether you are
attending with family, friends, or colleagues, the Black Ourstory Festival offers
something for everyone.
Four Days, Eight Pillars
The Festival will explore eight key themes across four days:
Day 1 (Feb 15): Health & Wellness / Resistance to Enslavement
• Holistic health workshops and mental wellness sessions.
• Storytelling and exhibits highlighting ancestral resilience.
Day 2 (Feb 16): Agriculture & Food Security / Art & Crafts
• Discussions on sustainable agriculture and traditional foods.
• Stunning art exhibitions and hands-on craft workshops.
Day 3 (Feb 22): Dance & Music / Fashion, Textiles & Accessories
• Live performances, dance workshops, and music showcases.
• Fashion exhibitions celebrating African designers and textiles.
Day 4 (Feb 23): Storytelling & Film / Innovation & Invention
• Showcasing technological advancements by Black innovators.
• Film screenings and storytelling sessions honoring Black narratives.
Festival Highlights and Activations
Attendees can look forward to exciting activations, including:
1. E-Gaming Centre: Highlighting gaming as a tool for youth development
2. PopUp Museum: Will showcase an array of African heroes and heroines
with notable achievements.
3. The Suriname Exhibition: The Suriname Story is an activation powered by
Her Excellency Ambassador Fidelia Graand-Galon, the Ambassador of The
Republic of Suriname to Ghana. She will introduce us to the Maroons of
Suriname.
4. Innovation & Invention Showcase: Featuring Ghanaian drone technology
and Makers Space exhibits.
5. Interactive Mural: Will feature an interactive art installation that displays
the different Pillars of the BOF at the entrance area of the festival.
6. PopUp Shop: A curated market of African foods, fabrics, and crafts.
7. Art & Craft Exhibition: Will feature a Sculpture Garden and showcase a
wide variety of artwork made by celebrated African artists.
8. Dental Screenings: Fun, educational health engagements.
9. On-site Podcast Broadcast: Will share Festival reflections and insights.
