The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has led a stakeholder engagement session on the draft National Petroleum Authority (NPA) Bill, which seeks to repeal the National Petroleum Authority Act, 2005 (Act 691), as amended by Act 913 of 2016.

The draft legislation is designed to reform Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector by strengthening regulatory oversight, tightening compliance, and addressing both current challenges and future opportunities within the industry.

Mr. Jinapor commended participants for their valuable contributions, stressing the importance of collective input in shaping the reforms. “Together, we shall enhance efficiency, address regulatory gaps, tighten enforcement and promote an investment-friendly downstream sector,” he stated.

The bill, when passed, is expected to boost investor confidence while ensuring a more robust and transparent regulatory framework for Ghana’s petroleum industry.
