Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Fujii Hisayuki, paid a high-profile visit to the Ghana stand at the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD-9), held in Yokohama.
He was warmly received by GIPC’s CEO, Mr. Simon Madjie, in a meeting that underscored the growing momentum for strategic cooperation between the two nations.
Their conversation also emphasised the importance of aligning investment with Ghana’s national development priorities, particularly in energy, agribusiness, and digital transformation.
The Ghana stand, a vibrant showcase of the country’s investment potential, innovation, and cultural richness, was the backdrop for a candid exchange between the two dignitaries.
Mr. Fujii commended Ghana’s commitment to fostering sustainable development and expressed Japan’s readiness to explore new avenues of collaboration, particularly in trade, infrastructure, and technology.
Mr. Madjie, in turn, emphasized Ghana’s openness to Japanese investment and innovation, highlighting the country’s stable governance, youthful talent pool, and government policies such as the 24- Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme(24H+) and the Big Push Agenda, a strategic decision intended to position the country as a gateway to West Africa.
